Town of Coyle Projects Update 7-20-2026
We have several projects going on in and around our Town.
The $121,675 refurbishment of the Water Tower is complete (7/18/26) and is filling with water. The normal water pressure should return once the tank is filled. The project began January 2025 with the Town funding an underwater diving video determining the need the for the repairs to the Tower. The search for funding began July 2025.
97% of the project was funded through OWRB REAP Grant funds of $118,500 awarded to the Town earlier this year. The project was coming in under budget $4,800. Rather than return the funds to OWRB, the Board was able to add $3,175 of Town funds to the $4,800 and upgrade the quality of paint to extend the exterior paint life. Not only is the Tower an attractive feature of the Town but an improvement of our water quality.
The Highway 33 construction is continuing on the intersection at Main St and Highway 33. ODOT has been notified by the School Administration that school will be back in session on of August 5th.
The contractor for the fire hydrant replacement project is working hard to complete the installation of the remaining nine hydrants before school starts. 100% of the $267,000 project cost is being provided by 2026 ACOG REAP awarded to the Town. The project is replacing 30 of the Town’s oldest fire hydrants. As contractors are working, water service will continue to be interrupted at various times. Residents will be alerted when the Contractors are expected to be working in Town as soon as we have the information. However, only after efforts are not successful to isolate the water interruptions to limited areas, will the team know if water must be shut off to the whole Town. Alerts will continue to be issued to keep residents updated as to where the water outages will occur during the day. The fire hydrants replacement project should make everyone more confident that if they are needed, they will work!
For Fiscal Years 2024, 2025 and 2026: $629,084 of grant funds have been secured for Sewer Lagoon Discharge System Upgrades, Street Repairs and Equipment, Fire Hydrant Replacements and Water Tower Refurbishment.

The Board of Trustees is in the processing of updating our Town of Coyle Municipal Codes and are looking for your input. You will find the proposed Coyle Municipal Code here to review. There is also a form for you to be able to submit questions or comments on the code here. You can also submit any questions or concerns to Town Hall directly. There will be a meeting scheduled soon to have a discussion on updating this code. We are looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this proposed code book.
